My Story

My Wellness Journey

I discovered fitness after the birth of my second daughter. Weight-lifting became a passion, along with aerobics. I loved the feeling of being strong and fit. Everything changed after a fall, resulting in a severe neck injury. That injury would change my life. Weightlifting as I had known it, became an obsolete thing. I rethought everything I did. Stiff necks and headaches were a daily thing but I lived with it until my neck seized up for 3 years. How I longed to be able to go back to my daily pain as it was manageable, at least! This was severe pain...constantly. An MRI revealed DDD in 3 of my cervical discs. I was given no hope as I explored and tried treatments, physical therapy, acupuncture, etc.

In my quest, I found some nutrition that seemed to make sense. Everyone was doubtful as I pursued this route. I had NO idea that nutrition could play that big of a role in my health! Within a couple of weeks, I began to regain movement in my neck. After a year, I was back to the range-of-motion I had prior to seizing up but without all of the pain and fewer stiff necks. It was awesome!

I rediscovered yoga about a year ago, after being inspired by a centurion moving quite agilely doing a yoga flow. I believe that movement might, indeed, be the secret to youth! That was a year ago.

I found some healers in my yoga instructors and have been able to advance my health journey even further. Realignment of the spine is possible, even in old injuries. As that continues to evolve, things work better. I can stand straighter, balance better, eliminate a lot of pain and think clearer. The stress relief is a big plus, too!

Along with these other "steps" in my health, I have discovered the ketogenic diet. It is the ultimate anti-inflammatory diet, along with so many other long-term benefits. I am here to help coach you on your wellness journey, too!

Age IS simply a number! I feel better in my 60's than I did in my 50's. If you are interested in regaining and improving your health, I would love to help...diet, nutrition and movement. A three-pronged approach can be a powerful thing!
